The second unit in our course is titled “Searching for Truths.” We began the course by considering connections between our identity and the identity of St. Kate’s. Now, in this unit, we will explore perspectives from the liberal arts and sciences, as we create and consider questions concerning oppression and social justice. We will ask the CSJ questions: How do we meet the needs of the time? How do we serve our dear neighbor? These questions are central to our mission, and we hope that you continue to ask these questions throughout your life. The essence of a liberal arts education is to move beyond what we currently know in order to discover new perspectives and to consider questions in a new light --this is the lifelong work of engaging with the liberal arts. This section of the course will focus on precise research questions, synthesis writing, effective oral presentations, and researched writing. Continue to use your RTW Materials as you proceed with the assignments in this section.
